Teacher Covenant Name(Required) First Last Email STATEMENT OF BELIEFS Members of Abiding Faith Bible Church who desire to teach in any capacity at the church, must adhere to the beliefs found below. By signing this Teaching Covenant, the member confirms that it is his/her conviction that the beliefs stated below are true, that he/she will teach in accordance with these foundational truths, and that to teach anything that contradicts any of these truths, will result in the member losing the ability to teach in the church. 1. (THE BIBLE) The Holy Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is inerrant, infallible, and our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. 2. (GOD) The Trinity: One God existing in 3 distinct persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 3. (JESUS) Christ was born of a virgin and came to reveal God, redeem men, and rule over God's Kingdom. 4. (HOLY SPIRIT) The Holy Spirit came from the Father as promised by Christ to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and through His indwelling He supernaturally and sovereignly works to regenerate, sanctify, instruct, empower, and seal all believers unto the day of redemption. 5. (MANKIND) Man was created by God in His image and likeness; in Adam’s sin of disobedience to the revealed will of God, mankind incurred physical and spiritual death (separation from God), and as a consequence are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by choice and therefore under condemnation. 6. (ATONING WORK) Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His fulfillment of the law, accomplishing the righteous requirement of the law, and through the shedding of His blood and sacrificial death on the cross. His death was voluntary, substitutionary, and atoning. 7. (SALVATION) Salvation is wholly of God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and not on the basis of human merit or works; those who repent, and trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are justified before God, delivered from condemnation, adopted into the family of God, and receive eternal life. 8. (SANCTIFICATION) All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born again by the Holy Spirit and are increasingly conformed to the image of Christ; genuine regeneration is manifested by fruits worthy of repentance as demonstrated in righteous attitudes and conduct. 9. (SECURITY) All the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. 10. (THE CHURCH) All who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body-- the church--and the members of the spiritual body are called to associate themselves together in local assemblies. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by building itself up in the faith, by instruction of the Word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances, and by advancing and communicating the Gospel to the entire world. 11. (SATAN) Satan is a fallen angel and the author of sin who works to destroy the souls of men; he shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire along with the other fallen angels and all who do not personally receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. 12. (THE RETURN) Our blessed hope is in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ.
