In between. That's where we find ourselves. Between heaven and earth. Saved, our futures secure, yet in between. I can see Paul's footprints where he stands and speaks these words...in between:
Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
And so our love FOR Christ and FROM Him, while real, is not yet fully realized...not yet fully expressed. Paul knew one day it would be, wrapped up in the Glory to come, but in the waiting, he stood in between. Between the glory of heaven and the glimpses of Christ on earth. Paul was completely satisfied/content, and yet lived with a constant longing in his soul to be home.
How could God teach us about this dichotomy? All His followers stand in between. Fully His, yet the manifestation of that truth not yet fully realized. The glimpses we have now cannot compare to the fullness to come. We long with eagerness to manifest our love...a love that is for now...bound. A love that is for now...from afar.
